Ambassador Andrei Kelin’s congratulatory message on Russia Day
Dear compatriots!
I sincerely congratulate you on the occasion of Russia Day! Today all of us can share the feeling of being a part of a great nation, our home country that we love and feel proud of. This celebration is a symbol of common destiny of the Russian people who lived in peace and harmony throughout centuries. We need to carefully preserve this great heritage, remember the lessons of the past and stand up to the modern challenges. It is important to hear and respect each other, aim for mutual understanding and compromise.
Today Russia, like many other countries in Europe and the world, is on an obstacle course due to the pandemic. New realities emerge. We see not only human losses but also a great hit to the economies and in some cases even increased tensions between states. We can overcome these difficulties quicker and more effectively by working together and helping each other, rather than trying to separate the world into friends and foes, like we see in some cases.
Russia is beginning to rise above these challenges. The country’s progressive development will continue. The state will continue to care for the well-being of its citizens and be a responsible player on the international arena.
I would like to thank everyone who maintains their links with Russia, working passionately and using their knowledge and skills to preserve and promote Russian language, the cultural heritage and spiritual values of our nation.
Everyone is well aware of the genuine Russian cultural and literature masterpieces, the unique scientific discoveries, which clearly demonstrate true love of their creators to the Fatherland. That is why we see State Awards being presented on this day for outstanding achievements in science and technology, literature, art and humanitarian activities.
Russia is ready to share its achievements with the world community, including the UK, as our relations are based on the firm basis of historic, business, cultural and basic human-to-human relations.
Dear friends, the current circumstances do not allow us to duly celebrate this glorious day, yet I am convinced that the good times will soon come. I would like to wish you all well-being and reaching new ambitious goals!
I am absolutely sure that there is nothing impossible for Russia and for the Russian people!
Thank you for your attention.
