Russian Embassy hosts Conservative Friends of Russia

On 21st August 2012 the Embassy of the Russian Federation held a Reception to mark the establishment of the Conservative Friends of Russia, headed by the Honorary President RtHon Sir Malcolm Rifkind.
The Organisation is aimed at strengthening relations between British and Russian communities, business and organizations, encouraging individuals to explore history and culture, advancing a greater understanding of the comparative political systems and providing a forum for open discussion of issues related to Russia and Great Britain.
The event was addressed by Ambassador Alexander Yakovenko, Honorary Vice President of the Forum, Chairman of the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee John Whittingdale and Chairman of the CFoR Richard Royal.
